Symbols in Minority Report are used to invoke ideas that criticise the degree to which the state invades the privacy of the individual through surveillance. Through the use of the symbol of the eye, Stephen Spielberg presents us with the classical idea that ‘justice’ is blind. This conclusion has been drawn from the prophet, Tiresias, as the use of the blindfold brings forth a sense of impartiality to justice.
